2013 Strings For Food Campaign = SUCCESS!

Strings for Food

Look at all the cans!

The 2013 campaign to get some canned goods for the SCV Food Pantry was a success. 24 guitars were restrung and 205 pounds of food were collected. Some customers didn’t bring guitars, but only brought food. It was a community effort for sure.

Dennis and Jason were excited, but leery. “I wanted to get as much food as I could for the SCV Food Pantry, but at the same time I was thinking, I don’t want to restring 100 guitars!” This was the first year for the KGMC staff, but it won’t be the last.

With help from Ben Cole of D’Addario, KGMC was provided with enough strings to get the job done, and well. The day was a mix of electrics and acoustics. Customers mingled and watched as people brought in more cans and more guitars.

Strings For Food 2013 – Sponsored by D’Addario

Keyboard Galleria Music Center and D’Addario have teamed up to help out the SCV Food Pantry by sponsoring this year’s Strings For Food event.

Bring in a 6 string guitar, and 5 cans of food, and we’ll put new strings on that guitar. AND we’ll do up to 3 guitars for you (15 cans). No locking tremolos please. 🙂

And if you don’t play guitar, or don’t need strings, bring in cans of food and we’ll give you a percentage off for every can you bring in, up to 15 cans. Some exclusions apply, but let’s have some fun with this.

Of course you don’t have to get anything restrung or buy anything. If you would just like to bring in some cans of food to help out the cause, that’d be awesome.

Let’s do our best to get a bunch of canned goods to the SCV Food Pantry for Thanksgiving.

When: 11/16, 10-3 pm
Where: Keyboard Galleria Music
Cost: FREE! (5 cans of food)

Are You In Tune? [GoGo Tuners]

There are a lot of tuners out there, and everyone can have their favorite. Sometimes your favorite is the coolest looking one, or the best priced, or even the one with most features. Sometimes, it is all of the above.

GoGo really knocks it out of the park with their tuners. Here are some video reviews so you don’t have to take our word for it.

Surviving the World Of Guitar Pedals

With all of the different pedals, and the different things to think about when acquiring and assembling your rig of pedals, there can be some confusion every step of the way.

“So what kind of cables should I use? Does the reverb go before or after the flanger, and is that before or after the compressor?”

Thankfully the good staff of Premier Guitar put together an extensive Survival Guide on all things regarding pedals.
